Rental/Usage Guidelines

Rental/Usage Guidelines

The historical 1855 Chapel on the Green located in Yorkville, Illinois is available for wedding ceremonies, vow renewals, baptisms, funerals, memorials, and other celebrations of life based on our reservation process and a set schedule of established fees.  As a significant aspect of our business operating plan, these rental opportunities serve as the primary source of income used to fund maintenance and repairs for our historical building,
The Board of Directors also entertains rental requests from individuals or groups who are interested in utilizing Chapel space at a standard hourly rate for other types of one-time programs or events.  These events may include such things as musical recitals, performances, lectures, small meetings, ceremonies, and church or ministry-related events, and must be arranged through our Wedding Coordinator.
An inquiry that has repeatedly presented itself over the years involves the question of rental of this facility to unaffiliated groups or organizations for purposes of establishing regularly scheduled (or repeating) events such as setting up classroom space for ongoing educational programs, serving as a regular meeting place for outside organizations, or serving as a site for religious worship or ministry outreach on a repeated or ongoing basis.
At this time, the Chapel on the Green Historical Society NFP is unable to grant requests for these types of regularly scheduled or long-term uses for the following reasons, including, but not limited to: general liability concerns, availability of Chapel supervisory staff, cleaning and maintenance schedules, ensuring the privacy and security of the businesses and organizations currently located within the Chapel building, and general event scheduling. The need to prioritize and maintain flexibility for the scheduling of weddings and other special life celebrations continues to be our main focus.
As always, the Chapel on the Green appreciates your understanding and support regarding these guidelines established for Chapel usage.
