THE CHAPEL TODAY

Today, the Chapel's sanctuary features the original stained glass windows, our 1899 Hinners Pipe Organ, and a beautiful Ellington upright piano. Housed in the bell tower, the original Meneely Co. Church Bell still rings today in celebration of weddings and other special occasions. We are also very excited to have recently made several updates to the Chapel, including new hardwood floors in the sanctuary and an exterior paint refresh. Additionally, two Eagle Scout Projects included the deck on the Chapel's west side, and the cobblestone walkway to the Howard & Mariann Manthei Memorial Bench.
Our tasteful and convenient annex, known as the "Heritage Hall," offers both bride's and groom's dressing rooms, restroom facilities, our ever-popular Bridal Museum, and a common lobby area. When not in use, the bride's and groom's rooms serve as comfortable meeting spaces for small group activities. The basement level has served as a home for the Boy Scout Troop 40 for many decades and currently provides a meeting space for the newly formed girls' BSA Troop 50. In addition, the kitchen and adjacent office space are utilized as the central office for Treasure Breads Baking Company, owned and operated by local residents, Geneva and Rena Pedersen.
Providing for the safety and convenience of our guests with personal mobility concerns, a permanent ADA-approved concrete ramp has been installed at the Chapel's front entrance. Once inside the sanctuary, a small portable ramp is available to make the entire main floor of the building easily accessible when moving from the sanctuary to Heritage Hall annex for participation in events, access to restrooms (not fully handicap accessible at this time), or to visit the Bridal Museum. Thanks to a generous grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley in 2025, stair glide units have been added at all levels of the building to help provide easier access to those with special needs.
